New Born Screening
Newborn screening — a healthy start from day one.
About Newborn Screening
Neonatal screening is a preventive paediatric screening procedure used to identify patients with congenital or inborn metabolic disorders, so that treatment can begin in the first few weeks of life. Early diagnosis and treatment helps reduce morbidity and mortality of affected infants.
When is newborn screening performed?
A screening can be done before you take your newborn home if born in a hospital. It is typically carried out in your room or the newborn area by a medical professional. For a baby born at home, sample collection can be done by our phlebotomist.

Neonatal Phenylalanine
